about Rosaleen
Born in Belfast, Rosaleen studied art at the Belfast College of Art, and later Art & Design history at Birmingham City University. After leaving college she taught art for many years in Northern Ireland and in England where she was to become a head of department.
During this time she also continued to pursue her painting career, exhibiting throughout England. Rosaleen now lives in County Down where she paints full time, and continues to exhibit her work extensively.
She is a full member of The Pastel Society of Ireland
The human figure has always been the main theme of her paintings and drawings . Her focus and interest lies within the analysis of the human form.
Rosaleen's work can be found in public and private collections throughout Britain and Ireland, Europe, Canada, U.S.A., and Australia.
Alexander San Miguel -International Assoc. for the Study of the Nude in Art- 2010 Journal " Much of your work exhibits the lines and forms of a Michaelangelo drawing but with a more modern presentation." The I.A.S.N.A Journal (International Assoc. for the Study of the Nude in Art) 2010. Rosaleen was one of the 5 featured artists described as " the most talented working today."
